I gave myself a tattoo and I think I messed it up.?

I used alla prima greywashes for my tattoo. The medium greywash is the same as the dark greywash, and the lightest looks medium. I don't know if it will lighten after it heals or not. Has anyone got a tattoo that looks dark but then lightened up after it healed?
