Can I train a parakeet like a pigeon?

I have a Bourke's Parakeet. I already know how to train PIGEONS, but do you think it would be possible to train a parakeet to carry small notes over a very short distance? ( 1 mile) I mean, I'm more than sure they're mentally capable of learning, but would they come back like a Homing Pigeon or just fly away? Any of you "parakeet enthusiasts" know any tricks that could help me?

Several years ago I was in the same situation but the flat I rented wasn't as bad as that, I was at the end of a long waiting list but my daughter and her baby lived with me and she was rehoused after 2 years because the privately rented flat was classed as insecure tenancy. Your friend should talk to the council and explain the health problems of living in her flat but if she is given something quickly it might be in an area no one wants to live in. If the council don't have anything for her they will tell her to find a better private flat. Her landlord should fix the problems because of Health & Safety Regulations. Ok some im 22 and am about 6.1.. Im looking to buy a bike within the next few years maybe even this year. Now as of this second i have zero experience on a bike but before i ever buy one im going to take all the saftey courses that they offer. Now iv heard things like 250cc are great bikes and even to the point that its absolutly not advisable to buy anything over a 250cc. Does this sound like pneumonia in my rat?

A month or so ago, my rat started making pigeon noises. We thought it was strange but didn't think much of it. It started getting worse so we went to the pet store to buy him really comfy litter (we were using pine) and the lady at the pet store said that rats have sensitive nasal passages and that the pine might of affected him. At this moment, our rat has only gotten worse. The new litter hasn't done much and he is getting worse. Around his nose, it is red and mucusy. Baby pigeon help!!!!!!?

hello, i went in to the garden early this morning and found a baby pigeon out there. It seems quite alert and flapping its wings alot. i tried to put him on a branch of a tree as his mother and father are around. however the tree he lives in is a big conifer and impossible to get in and find his nest so he was put in one right near it, he didnt move from there, his mon n dad came to him but hours passed and he hadnt gone in to his tree. he can walk and is trying to fly but not there yet. he did try to fly again and fell out the tree he was in so put him in a box for the night so he was safe and warm and going to try again in the morning. but dont know what to do with him. anyone know?

Will my knee be okay?

ABout 2 months ago I partially dislocated my knee cap, and the whole knee locked as well. It went into place after I screamed and shook my leg XD But the doctor said it was because my hips are too loose and it's made me develop pigeon feet, which has worn down the cartiledge and makes my knee easy to slip in and out of place. It hurts and feels really horrible when I slowly bend down, cross my legs, sit on my legs or slowly stand up. Today was my birthday and i was coming back home from a family meal (it was my 17th bday) and i saw there 2 pigeons on the otherside of the road like walking around in the road, they seemed quite happy together. I have a twelve year old Shepard/Husky mix. She is my boyfriends "childhood" dog and we took her from his mother about four months ago when his mother moved. Doing what your doing now will not work sadly. What you need is to get a heating pad or a heating lamp. For a heating pad, you need to make a makeshift nest and place the egg so it is facing up. Turn the heating pad on LOW. You must turn the egg every hour. Also the yolk coming out means it is dead. The incubation of the egg is 14 - 18 days. Now for a heating lamp, get something similar to like a small can and make a makeshift nest. Don't put the lamp really close just enough so the egg is warm. You will have to check the temperature for the first 10 minutes to be sure it doesn't boil or overheat. Good luck!

Press your leg, and be ready to stop her with the reins. Keep asking with your leg, but keep the reins taught and don't let her take a step forward. Again, if she moves one step praise her and then ask again. For backing up, make sure your reins are absolutely even. Then pull back slowly, and if she takes one straight step, stop and praise her. Pull with a steady even pressure. If she takes a step that isn't straight, don't praise her but correct her with your leg by moving her hind end back into line. Good luck!

How did the pigeon on my balcony die?

A mom pigeon bird laid two egg on my balcony. One egg was cracked. The other egg hatched. That bird grew to about a few months old and sits on the roof of the building next door. Two more eggs were found in the nest that hatched. Two more birds came out. One flew away but the other one just sat on top of a box over the nest never flying. Year and a half.... Weight loss zero?

I've been trying for a year and a half to lose weight... And I've tried every diet under the sun. Atkins, weight watchers, slimming world, cabbage soup the list goes on. So I changed my mind and started to change my eating habits to see if this would work, but to make dismay nothing happened. In conjunction with this I go to the gym 5 days a week go swimming once a week go running 3 times a week and do Zumba 3-4 days a week.... So I can't see why I'm still 15 stone.... I am living at the moment on chicken with no fat or skin vegetables, I have pasta with tomato sauce (brown pasta) and I eat a lot of fruit and vegetables. I don't has takeaways.... How much pasta to feed 130 people?!?

My fiance and I are having apx. 130 guests for our wedding. We will be serving a ceasar salad, garlic breadsticks, tortellini prima vera, chicken alfredo fettucini, and spaghetti and meatballs. We're stumped on how much of each pasta to make, since we are making everything ourselves. So far we have made 2 large chafing(3" deep) dishes of each pasta. Is this enough?? We are a team of three working on a software project. Me , my Team-Lead and my colleague. The team is formed couple of months back and we are working on a new project. She never asks my TeamLead to help because she does not want to show him that she does not know the stuff. Also when she asks something he does not help her. I have told her to ask TeamLead instead of me because he is better than me and also it is his responsibility to help his team. She has decided to be in good-terms with TeamLead because she said he is the one going to let Manager know about our work-progress at the time of appraisal. If I start working she sits behind me and keeps looking at my screen. This makes me uncomfortable and I have told her to do her work and let me or LEad know when she has a doubt. TeamLead behaves as if this whole is none-of-his-business. He is capable of handling the whole project. I am not too good and not too bad. I am learning. Baby pigeon in my balcony please help?

I was moving my stuff from the balcony because we are moving, and I saw a pigeon's nest.. there was an egg, and a baby pigeon about a few days old (it can walk, and eat). I just noticed it, and I HAD to remove it's shelter. After awhile it started to rain, and the whole nest ( including the egg) got wet. I put a a oven drawer thing over the nest leaving enough room for the parent pigeons to get in and out from. Now as of this second i have zero experience on a bike but before i ever buy one im going to take all the saftey courses that they offer.
